I once read an article that a coach wrote about off season training. He said that fixed gear riding did absolutely nothing for conditioning. BULL!! All I know is that when I go out and do a 1.5 - 2 hour ride that I normally do on my road bike it hurts alot more. I've been winter training on a fixie since I was a junior (I hate riding a trainer) and seemed to always help to kick my seasons off well. The climbs and constant riding with no real rest. It might not physically give you a leg up as he says but a winter of riding a fixie can really give you a mental jump start to your season. I guess it really doesn't matter what you do in the winter, just do something.

And the beat goes on.....
I'm turning 40 this month. I've been racing since I was 15. The math is 25 years of pain and suffering. Yet I have enjoyed every season of it. During my time spent on a bike I have raced for several teams and met many people all over with one common interest, cycling. Some of those riders became my best friends, and I still keep in regular contact to this day. I guess with my ramblings I'm tring to say this is a great sport, and appreciate every day you can get out an just ride. I hope after another 40 years I'll still be able to turn the pedals.

End of another season
Well here we are closing on a another season. There were many changes for us, the biggest losing our shop sponsor. But the racing will go on. I would like to thank Cobblestone Bikes again for their support over the past years. Also I want to thank our new sponsors for the 2009 season, I hope we can race up to their expectations of us. If you have a chance please check out their web-sites and products. So thank you to every one who supported us this season and we hope to have a good 2009 with all of you.
Merry Christams and Happy New Years.
